“My PAT tutor, Leandro, was so helpful. There are some particular topics like Electrical Engineering which just seem to be my kryptonite in exams. He created lots of questions that specifically covered these topics so I could practice them the most. This is where I am sure I gained the most marks from my revision – thank you!”

Our 30 hour PAT tuition gives you the best possible chance of getting a great mark on the PAT. You will get 30 hours of bespoke expert tutoring consisting of:

The PAT exam consists of two major sections; Maths and Physics. The Maths syllabus coveres topics like Algebra, Elementary Mathematics and Calculus. Your tutor will assess your strengths and weaknesses on these topics, then provide focused tuition on your weaker areas to gain the most from tuition.

The Physics syllabus for the PAT contains topics such as Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism and Problem Solving. As with the Maths section, your tutor will assess your strengths and weaknesses and focus on where you need the most support. They will do this by creating bespoke question sets which hone in on your weaknesses, then teach you what the very best ways of working through the problems are.

You will receive 2 hours application advice from an expert tutor who has been through the process before, and passed with flying colours. They will help ensure you have the best possible application.

You’ll get access to all of our online resources which will give you plenty of practise on top of the support we will provide. This includes resources like fully worked solutions for all past exam papers and 5 full mock papers in the true style of the exam.

Next year he is starting a PhD at Imperial College, focussing on plasma atmospheres around comets.
Outside of academia, Peter enjoys playing rugby and escaping into the countryside to climb some very tall rocks.

Christina is a third year international student at St John’s College, Cambridge. She has a double first in Engineering, specialising in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering. She is a keen outreach enthusiast with volunteering experience in promoting technology-based fields through fun and educational initiatives. Common Concerns from Students

Bespoke tuition sessions are a two-way process and the more you put in – the more you’ll get out. Whilst tutors are happy to cover topics that will undoubtedly be useful, you will gain more from the sessions if you come prepared and armed with questions. Students who tend to improve the most are also the ones who persistently ask their tutor for focus on their weaknesses, week after week! We asked our PAT tutors to give some examples of past sessions that they’ve conducted to give you ideas about what is possible.

A key part of the PAT syllabus is Electricity and Magnetism. This covers topics such as current, voltage (potential difference) charge, resistance and the relationships between them and links to energy and power and more. Because the topic is so far reaching, we find that students haven’t always covered everything in their GCSE or A-level syllabus, especially due to all the exam boards available. To cover all bases, I first find out which are the weakest topics for a student, then focus on those topics to iron out any weaknesses.

The requirements to study Physics at Oxford is A*AA with Maths and Physics. This means that not every student takes Further Maths and can struggle with the advanced maths sections of the PAT. These can be extremely valuable points that help differentiate you from other candidates! My personal tuition method is to talk through and work through a few questions in each topics and identify potential problem areas. This method allows the student and I to find where exactly they will see the most benefit from tuition!
